If reading the Koran is not on your list of things to do, then here’s a reason you might want to add it: A translation of Islam’s holy book is now available in Latvian. The poet Uldis Bērziņš has been working on the translation for a number of years. Thanks to Juris Žagariņš of Massachusetts, some of the translated holy book can be downloaded from the Web page Topošais Korana latviskojums.
Thanks to the newspaper Diena, which passed on word of the translation on its Web site.
