Kādā frekvencē, Kenet?

American alternative rock group R.E.M.‘s famous song, “What’s the Frequency, Kenneth?”, provides the soundtrack to a 30-second trailer showcasing a 26-minute documentary now in production in Latvia. It’s the story of two Latvians, 40-something Ēriks and 19-year-old Agnija, as they prepare to attend the group’s Jan. 25 concert in Rīga.

The documentary is the work of film student Juris Kursietis, reports R.E.M.‘s Web site, where the trailer also may be viewed. According to the news item, the documentary is “the story of ‘a Cold War generation versus the MTV generation…that culminates in a concert by their idols.’”

For those who missed it, R.E.M.‘s concert in Rīga was one of several opened by Latvian darlings Prāta Vētra (BrainStorm).

Thanks to Vanda Dauksts in Illinois for the tip.
