The Latvian band Otra Puse, on a two-week tour of the United States, performed Jan. 13 in Minneapolis. The first part of the concert featured songs from the group’s own repertoire, including hits such as “Savādā” and the recent “Ave Pali.” During the second half the band’s covered songs made popular by performers and composers such as Ojārs Grīnbergs, Imants Kalniņš and Jumprava. The band was born 20 years ago after Jumprava broke up. Otra Puse today includes lead singer Normunds Pauniņš, keyboardist Ivars Makstnieks, and American-born Arnolds Kārklis on guitar. The band’s tour concludes Jan. 15 in Milwaukee.
