- Mārtiņš Krūmiņš: Latvian-American Impressionist
- www.perkons1.com/MARTINSKRUMINS
- The late Latvian-American impressionist painter Mārtiņš Krūmiņš is the focus of Web site created recently by his niece, Daina Krūmiņš. The painter, who lived in northern New Jersey, put onto canvas scenes from his experiences in Latvia, in Western Europe and in America. Writes his niece: "Mārtins Krūmiņš was absolutely devoted to his work, in a way that is sometimes hard to understand. He spent years studying colors and he was particularly fascinated by the subtle, muted colors of Winter, of rainy days, of dawn and evening." Most of his paintings now are in various museums and private collections in Latvia. The nicely assembled site includes background about Krumins and a sampling of his artwork.
