Latvia is the home to many folklore groups that sing the way the ancient Letts used to sing. But you'd be hard-pressed to find a Latvian folklore group outside Latvia. Latvians are more likely to sing in choirs or form Latvian rock bands. Sudrabavots is an exception to the rule. Based in Washington, D.C., this group of 20- and 30-somethings sings ancient Latvian folk songs the traditional way. Founded in 2000, Sudrabavots has taken part in various events.
